FILMS FOR OUR FUTURE

One Forest was formed with the mission to help people reconnect to themselves and to nature. We believe in the interconnection of all things and in that way our health as individuals and as humanity is directly linked to the health of our natural landscapes. It is as though we are one organism making up this beautiful planet earth. We are all nature. There is no separation. When we pollute our waters, we pollute ourselves. When we cut down our vital forests, we cut down our own chances of survival.  Through films, videos, art and events we are connecting people to direct ways of regenerative action and healing that can help build and support a healthier planet.

REFORESTATION AND AGROFORESTRY

EDUCATION, OUTREACH AND INDIGENOUS STORYTELLING

Empower the Tembé and Guajajara communities with essential tools, technology, and training to protect their territories. Provide educational training in agroforestry and solar energy for autonomy and financial independence.

We're collaborating with organizations and scientists to replant over 8,000 hectares of forest that had been destroyed in two territories on the critically deforested eastern edge of the Brazilian Amazon. We'll replant with species that will bring income to the communities.

Make taking action easy through the film's website, maximize viewership, and build a following around the project. Support Indigenous filmmakers with training and equipment. Provide curriculum guides to 2 million U.S. educators for use alongside the film.

MAPULU

IN PRODUCTION

"Mapulu, the First Shaman" follows Mapulu, daughter of shaman Takumã, who, after a three-month coma at age 13, is chosen by the guardian spirit Mama’e to become her tribe's first female shaman. Set in the mystical world of Indigenous tribes, the film depicts her rise against patriarchal norms, establishing a matriarchal village and inspiring future female leaders.

The current status of the project is in the pre-production phase. We are finalizing the script, securing filming locations, and assembling our production team.

PRESERVATION OF INDIGENOUS WISDOM AND EDUCATION

We are establishing an educational program that aims to empower the Yawalapiti youth. Through a carefully crafted curriculum, the program will provide training in various aspects of audiovisual production, including filmmaking, photography, and storytelling.

HEALING AND CULTURAL CENTER

We are committed to aiding in the development and enhancement of the Yawalapiti Cultural Center. This center will serve as a hub for cultural exchange, knowledge sharing, and the celebration of their rich heritage.

GATHERING OF THE PAJÉS TO TRAIN HEALERS

Mapulu uses an ancient wisdom of herbs and plants in her healing practices. Concerned about this knowledge disappearing, she wants to host gatherings in her healing center to train other shamans from around Brazil. This gathering is also a very important part of the film's production.

THE FLOW

IN POST PRODUCTION

As the tempest of the future fast approaches, humanity clings to the unexamined assumptions of our sinking society. The Flow weaves us a lifeline from the perennial wisdom of an unlikely cast of characters on the periphery of mainstream culture.

The Flow has been in production for 10 years in five countries, collecting stories from Erykah Badu to China's Tai-Chi masters. The team is currently seeking funding for post production.

Directed by: Lois Fox

Produced by: One Forest, (Chelsea Greene and Rob Grobman,) Atossa Soltani, Roger Mayer
